Since my additional comments don't seem to be included on my profile page, I'll repeat them here. I have been a social/political activist since 1965. Among many things, I founded the New Haven Gay Liberation Front, lived in NYC's second gay men's political collective and participated in NY GLF, and marched in the first of what we now call Pride Parades on June 28 (or so), 1970. I also married my husband, David, on the second day of what turned out to be illegal gay marriage in San Francisco, on Feb. 13, 2004. Soon after we arrived here in 2014, I organized the Supreme Court Same-Sex Marriage Victory Celebration demo that took place in Port Townsend. I've also contributed guest editorials on LGBTQ issues to the Port Townsend Leader. On other issues, I spoke at all three City Council meetings in favor of becoming a Welcoming City. One of the reasons I'm volunteering is that I'm very concerned about the reportedly high percentage of suicidal thoughts amongst LGBTQ 10th graders in Port Townsend. If I can help provide a role model or talk with kids about this or offer support in any way, I am available.
