You have indicated an expertise in Education and Training
I taught music for 15 years at the college level and 1 year at the middle school level in addition to private lessons to students of all ages. For 8 of those years I was a department chair. The combination gave me an understanding of how colleges work, and by extension how medium and small organizations work. In my current job at Centrum I manage workshops for up to 220 people and performances for over 1,000. I'm responsible for every detail, requiring me to learn how to plan and how to make it possible for dozens of people to work together and be successful.

I lived and taught in Finland for 8 months and studied in Germany for a year. Besides seeing lots of interesting and beautiful things, the most valuable thing I learned is that there are multiple ways of doing things--not just the way we're used to. This is true for all facets of life, from the way a country's government is structured to the shape of an electrical socket. Learning to be open to other people's ideas means you benefit from all their experience and wisdom, which can be extremely valuable.
